“Kitchens in the northeastern New Territories”
In the rural areas, some kitchens are so spacious that they can accommodate dining tables. I first saw such kitchens in Tsoi Yuen Village, which was going to be demolished. I thought to myself, it would be a beautiful scene for the whole family to dine together.
The sizes of kitchens vary in the three villages of the northeastern New Territories. Due to technical limits, I could only take pictures of bigger kitchens. This series of photos is an attempt to show the other side of Hong Kong – another way of living that is not dictated by property hegemonies.
